

One of the industry’s most respected creative minds, Sir John Hegarty is perhaps best known as one of the founding members of Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH), the agency that originated “Vorsprung durch Technik” – now one of the most recognised German mottos in popular culture – and which produced the game-changing 1985 ‘Laundrette’ ad for Levi’s® which reignited interest in the brand’s timeless 501 jeans and sent sales skyrocketing across Europe.

Elliot Harris is a Creative Partner at Havas London and Global Executive Creative Director for the entire Reckitt portfolio. He is married with 5 daughters and a Doberman, and any precious spare time is spent at the London School of Communication Arts where he is a trustee and mentor as well as nurturing young talent at Havas London.

From a disastrous career in fashion, Vicki discovered a love for copy when Paul Smith told her to stop trying to draw and write her ideas down instead. Today, Vicki is not only recognised as one of the most awarded creatives in the world but also a fearless champion for women and under-represented groups in the creative industry as a whole. Campaign Creative Leader of the Year, Vicki was also awarded a place on the IPA’s inaugural iList. In 2017, she became the Chair of the Creative Circle Awards, becoming the first woman ever to hold that position and is also Founder/Chair of the Creative Foundation, championing access to the creative industries for all.

Billy married the love of his life and went back to Belfast Art College two days after their first daughter was born. He left college to work for JWT, who he went on to work for 4 times, reaching the dizzy heights of Executive Creative Director. Billy also worked for BBH. He has loved, almost, every minute of his career and he is still Creative Directing.

Rosie Arnold started moonlighting from Central St Martins for Bartle Bogle Hegarty in 1983. She worked the next 33 years progressing from Junior Art Director to Deputy ECD. In 2012, she was President of D&AD, in its 50th year, where she introduced the first new award - the White Pencil, for work that does good in the world. In 2016 she moved to be Head of Art at Abbot Mead Vickers working mainly on chocolate - lovely as this was, Rosie decided to go freelance in 2019 and now enjoys painting and the variety life brings.

Nicholas Welch began his career at JWT in London, before moving to Bartle Bogle Hegarty. He returned to JWT London with Billy Mawhinney, where they were appointed as joint Executive Creative Directors, before leaving to go to Collett Dickenson and Pearce for a brief stint as joint Executive Creative Directors. They moved to Ammirati Puris Lintas, and Nicholas was appointed Executive Creative Director, before leaving to set up Coalface.
In March 2002, he became Creative Director of BBDO Moscow. Back in the UK he set up Writing for Business and worked with many companies including Brunswick and Lambie Nairn. Nicholas has produced work that has won numerous awards at D&AD, Cannes and Creative Circle. He then decided to set up and run eco campsites for the last 12 years and has continued to work in advertising and journalism.

Walter Campbell is an esteemed creative writer and art director, celebrated for his groundbreaking contributions to advertising and film. His impressive portfolio not only boasts numerous prestigious awards but also exemplifies the pinnacle of creativity and innovation. Iconic work such as Guinness' "Surfer," Volvo's "Twister," Dunlop's "Tested For The Unexpected," and KissFM's "Silent Dance" have set standards in the industry, becoming touchstones for marketers and agency professionals around the globe.

Kate started her career in TV production at WCRS in 1984, before moving to BBH three years later. There, Kate became a senior TV producer, working for clients including Shell and Levis. Kate then moved to DFGW as Head of Television and company director, working with clients including Pizza Hut, Daewoo and Disney. Since then, Kate has freelanced at agencies including Saatchi and Saatchi, AMV and Leo Burnett, working with clients such as Visa, Toyota and Pepsi.

Damian has over 35 years of experience in advertising as an award-winning creative writer and producer. After a 25-year radio career with EMAP and Bauer Media, many of those as Head of Creative, he took on a new challenge as a founding director of Redolution Ltd. Based in the North West of England, Redolution is a forward-thinking audio-visual production company and creative agency, crafting standout TV and radio commercials, video content, music production, and social media campaigns.

Barry McIlheney is the Belfast-born former CEO of the UK Professional Publishers Association (PPA) and the ex-Editor of Smash Hits and Empire. He has worked in magazines around the world for more than 40 years and is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Irish magazine industry.

Graham entered the world of radio creativity following a 20-year career in music. Following spells in Metro Radio Group stations, he became a radio advertising creative consultant – working with most of the UK’s leading radio groups. His personal awards include a Chicago Mobius, London International, RAB Orson Welles, and 15 outstanding creativity certificates. This is Graham’s fifth appearance as a PANI Awards judge.

Bill started out in print and press production, becoming a TV producer at Saatchi & Saatchi in the 80’s and subsequently as a freelance producer for ad agencies and production companies. He has produced work for European and global clients through various agencies. Bill’s awards include a D&AD and a BTAA. He keeps himself busy as a freelance producer and a collaborator in film projects, while also co-running Squawk, his voice over agency.

Logan has led multi-national advertising agencies and founded creative start-ups on both sides of the Atlantic, working with some of the world’s most famous brands, including Samsung, Volvo, Virgin, LVMH and Unilever. Today, Logan advises global clients such as PepsiCo and Huawei, as well as helping guide start-up businesses and entrepreneurial enterprises. He has won over 200 creative awards globally.

Johnny is an award-winning TV Commercials director at Cannes and D&AD, working for clients including Nike, PlayStation, Innocent Smoothies, Persil, Vodaphone and Mars, as well as reaching the final of the Cannes TV Series writing competition. He started life as an art director at agencies including Leo Burnnett’s and TBWA but left for film school where he discovered dark rooms.

Ray Brennan left Belfast art college in 1982 and began his career in advertising at Lowe Howard-Spink. After eight years he moved to the hot shop FCO where he worked alongside Bruce Crouch as deputy CD,s. Since then, he has worked at Still Price, D'Arcy, Havas & McCanns. Today he works on freelance projects and is an associate Lecturer at the London College of Communications advertising course.

Paul started as a post boy at AMV before becoming a copywriter. He's probably best known for his radio work, winning more awards for radio than anyone else in the industry. He’s also published four novels and countless pieces of journalism.
